Well (and I am sighing), when it comes to milking the cash cow from every angle, Hollywood executives really are a step above (or is that below) most. In 2012, a truly awful sounding film called Vamps is to be released. Considered a romantic/comedy, Vamps is a-not-so subtle cash in on the hoopla surrounding all things vamp-tastic at the mo.
And it gets worse. Alicia Silverstone, best known for 1995’s enjoyable Clueless, plays one of the leads with actress Krysten Ritter along side. Ritter has only ever been known to most as the best friend, side-kick, and general supporting cast member of lack-lustre, mindless flicks such as 2008’s What Happens in Vegas, 2009’s Confessions of a Shopaholic, and the unadulteratedly vacuous 2010’s She’s Out of My League. And there’s no point in looking at Silverstone’s “career” since Clueless. Here’s the vibe – “2 female vampires in modern-day New York are faced with daunting romantic possibilities”. Seriously. Ha, ha, ha….
While we’ve all seen this level of crap before re the Hollywardian (sic) machine, my issue with this piece of cinematic poo, is have a look at the supporting cast! Sigourney Weaver and Malcolm McDowell are well and truly attached to this crud.
