Ok, I am a HUGE fan of Vin Diesel vehicle 2004’s The Chronicles of Riddick; the supposed sequel to reasonable but slightly how-hum 2000’s alien flick Pitch Black. But come on! It made barely over half of its production cost at the box office in its day, and now we have a further instalment to hit screens in 2013??? This can only be Fast & the Furious franchise – cash-in – Vin Diesel madness!
But The Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking will apparently be with us next year with leaked pics of Diesel’s luxury set trailer splashed across the net and local tabloid mags. Shipped in to house the big gun (at a mill +) while he shoots the next saga in Riddick’s haphazard spin about the universe (or will he adventure to the Underverse this time for those in the know???). I am excited (I guess), but am I one of 7 people? I am aware that Riddick was a passion project for Diesel and perhaps he thinks with the endless stream of profitable Fast & the Furious flicks about to be continuously projected out of the diuretic arse of Hollywood, MAYBE, he can squeeze some more dosh from this venture.
Please. You may have the talented Karl Urban back (exactly, who???), but equally talented legendary Judi Dench, Thandie Newton and Colm Feore (ok, he did die in the end) aren’t back. THERE IS A REASON WHY BUDDY!
