The talented dreamboat that is Mark Ruffalo is set to play the real life story of Olympic wrestler David Schultz who was shot by his best friend American millionaire John du Pont who will be played by Steve Carell in the new Bennet Miller film titled Foxcatcher.
If you’re not too familiar with the du Pont story here’s a quick recap, du Pont was a wealthy paranoid schizophrenic who built a training camp for wrestlers called Team Foxcatcher in Pennsylvania in the early 90’s. To this day there has never been any motive as to why he killed Schultz.
This real life story sounds insane and perfect for a Hollywood adaptation. After the shooting, the millionaire locked himself in his mansion for two days while he negotiated with police on the telephone. Police turned off his power and were able to capture him when he went outside to fix his heater…errr…OK!
This will be Steve’s first movie in this type of role so it should be interesting to see how it all pans out, to say the least this movie sounds a tad awesome.
Foxcatcher is set to be released June 2013….stay tuned folks!
