Last night I had the chance to see my favourite comedy duo the Flight of the Conchord’s first ever Australian sold out show and let me tell you, they didn’t disappoint.
Their partner in crime and fellow NZ comedian Rhys Darby recently confirmed that he is currently working on the script for the Flight of the Conchord movie. If you don’t know much about the boys then you really need to get some sort of a life. Flight of the Conchords are a NZ based comedy duo whose comedy and music became the basis of a BBC radio series and then an American television series. The fictional series revolves around the pair as they try to achieve success as a band in New York City and try to develop an American fan base. The series won over the critics and fans alike with its 2007 debut and it hasn’t stopped.
Both musicians-turned-actors have tried their hand at the big screen, particularly Jermaine Clement, who has had roles in Despicable Me, Dinner For Schmucks, Rio, and Men In Black III. Brett McKenzie has also been super busy writing several of the songs for the Muppets movie and starring in the latest Hobbit movie.
Keep your eye on these two, I believe world domination is beckoning!
