Ernest passed away on Sunday aged 95.
He will be remembered as the beefy screen star known for his often villainous roles who won the best actor Oscar for playing a lovesick butcher in the 1955 low budget film”Marty”.
Ernest died of renal failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with his wife and children at his side.
Borgnine, who endeared himself to a generation of Baby Boomers with the 1960s TV comedy “McHale’s Navy, will be very missed.
If you havent seen Marty please rent it and watch it, its acting at its finest!
