Quentin Tarantino Presents is the opening for the new RZA/Eli Roth movie titled “The Man with the Iron Fists”. If you don’t know who RZA is, he is the force behind the Wu Tang Clan and Eli Roth who was recently named the gorgasm king is acting as Producer on the movie.
The Man with the Iron Fists is exactly what you think it would be, an action adventure inspired Kung Fu movie. Making his debut as a Director, RZA alongside a stellar international cast led by Russell Crowe and Lucy Liu tells the epic story of warriors and assassins who must unite China to destroy the clan traitor who is set out to destroy them all. Needless to say, the soundtrack for this movie is amazing with names such as Kanye West, The Black Keys, Pusha T, Corinne Bailey Rae, and of course the legendary Wu-Tang Clan.
So it looks like I’m not the only one obsessed with Quentin, RZA recently went on record to say this about his mentor “I would say (that directing a film) is something more that was a dream, actually,” he explained. “I met Quentin Tarantino. They called me to promote a movie for them (Kill Bill, Vol. 1). Later on, he got me to do the music – he was like, ‘I want you to produce this like you produce those albums.’ And I was like, ‘It’d be my pleasure, yo.’ But then, I recognized something about him – ‘This guy is a genius. He’s an encyclopedia of film. I’m gonna ask him to mentor me, I’m gonna study with him.’ He accepted me, (and) I stayed as his student for six years, so by the time we got to 2009, I just graduated, and then at 2010, I got my own screenplay and my own script called The Man with the Iron Fists with my buddy Eli Roth. We go to Quentin as the godfather and say we want to do it together, ‘cus Eli’s also a student of his as well, and he blesses us.”
The Man with the Iron Fist is due for release November 2!
