With a Sir and a Dame, No Less!

Article by James
Hello 2013! Its always exciting to have a new year ahead of you when you can believe the weight-loss ads that play non-stop at this time of year are absolutely speaking to you, and you can DO IT! (not to forget to mention the quit smoking ads)… But I always love this time of year when it comes to film. What is a-comin”!!! Well first up in Oz has to be the Sir Anthony Hopkins and Dame Helen Mirren star-studded, and much-anticipated, Hitchcock; released this coming Thursday.

Hitchcock is a love story, set during the filming of Psycho in 1959, with Hopkins of course as Hitchcock and Mirren as his wife Alma Reville. With a cast that includes the underrated Jessica Biel and the over-rated Toni Collette, the film does also star Scarlett Johansson as a very convincing looking Janet Leigh. I must point out “looking”, as when it comes to “acting” I have to say that ScarJo has seriously dropped from an already low ledge for me. Recently while in NYC, I saw the saucy minx (and yes, seriously hot in the flesh) on stage on Broadway in a preview of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. AVOID. Elizabeth Taylor must be vomiting in her grave.

But it is also interesting to look forward to Hopkins and Mirren’s filming future. Seems Hopkins will team up with Mirren for her role in the sequel to 2010’s Red, which will be released this year. I thought Red was such an under-received flick that was bold, slick, and also a heap of fun. Oldies with guns. If you haven’t seen it, go check it out. And look out for the sequel later this year.
